The two main beaches that have to be visited while staying in Dubai are Al Mamzar Park beach and Jumeirah beach.

Al Mamzar Park beach is adjacent to a large park and lagoon. Music can be heard throughout the day. It features public amenities such as food kiosks, barbecue and picnic sites, play areas for children and a swimming pool. Note that every Wednesday the beach is reserved for woman and children.

Creek Side Park is a massive site that especially caters to families. It contains jogging tracks, playgrounds, a botanical garden, a mini golf course, barbecue facilities and a large amphitheatre. On Wednesdays the park is only open to woman and children.

Dubai features various vast modern shopping complexes which are the favourite Dubai tourist attractions of many visitors. The duty-free shopping at Dubai International Airport is always a popular bet for branded and designer items.

If you would like to take some time away from the 2008 Dubai Desert Classic golf to enjoy a more ethnic experience, try shopping at the numerous souks located throughout Dubai. At these traditional market-places you can haggle with the shopkeepers over the prices of spices, crafts, perfumes, jewellery and customized saris.

If you are interested in Dubai history and culture then have a look at the oldest building in the city, Al-Fahidi Fort, which houses the Dubai Museum.

For a more spiritual experience, take a night-time trip to the Jumeirah Mosque, a beautiful example of contemporary Islamic structural design. This is one of the view Mosques that non-Muslims are allowed to set foot in if they are part of a guided tour.
