The Emirates Golf Club and Majlis Championship Golf Course

The 2009 Dubai Desert Classic Course will be the Majlis (Arabic for ‘meeting place’), one of two championship golf course situated within the Emirates Golf Club. The Majlis was conceived by General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who aimed to conserve the natural desert character of the landscape as much as possible.

The Majlis Championship Dubai Desert Classic Golf Course is the first grass golf course in the Middle East and resembles an alluring oasis among the desert dunes. The terrain features gardens, walkways, several lakes and indigenous flora and flora.

However, the focal point of the Emirates Golf Club is undoubtedly the distinctive clubhouse, centrally located between the 8th and 9th hole. The seven spectacular buildings are fashioned in the style of a Bedouin tented village.
