Paul Casey (20/1 with Betfred to win the 2010 Masters) believes now is the time for him to win a major championship and end a 14-year wait for an Englishman to win one of the big four tournaments.
Englands last major success saw Nick Faldo win the Masters in 1996 and with three players currently in the top ten, Casey, Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter, the drought may soon be coming to an end.
Casey has a good record in the Masters, with four top 20 finishes in five appearances at Augusta the best finished being tied sixth in 2004.
The 32-year-old prepares for the opening major of the year by playing in the PGA Tours Shell Houston Open (Casey 12/1 to win this week) and he is in confident mood.
Casey revealed: “I feel ready. To me, the next eight, 10 years, I’ve got to capitalise on that because it’s my opportunity now.”
