The Dubai Desert Classic Championship is an annual professional golf tournament that forms part of the PGA European Tour. The event is usually hosted in January/February each year.

Dubai Desert Classic Betting and Winners
The Dubai Desert Classic Championship lures professional golfers from across the globe with a huge 1st prize of $416,660. The purse for the 2009 event was $2.5 million. The tournament also attracts the biggest names in golf by offering appearance fees to players.
At the 2009 Dubai Desert Classic, 19 year old Rory McIlroy won the tournament, the victory sent his rankings soaring from 50 to 16, making him the youngest player ever to make into the top 50 world rankings!
The winner of the Dubai Desert Classic tournament in 2008 was world number one Tiger Woods – who became the only player other than Ernie Els to win the event more than once. Ernie Els has seen victory three times. He also boasts the top score for the tournament 61 strokes for the par 72 course. Previous winners for the championship include Tiger Woods, Colin Montgomerie, Fred Couples and Steve Ballesteros.
